This will be followed by weak upper ridging Friday which will set the stage for a mostly sunny and warm day on Friday. Lows will generally be in the mid to upper 30s but some northwestern valleys may cool below freezing late at night. Subsidence behind the departing trough and ahead of an approaching upper ridge will bring clearing from west to east Thursday night. The upper trough will dissipate and slide southeast of the region Thursday night. This will bring a partly to mostly cloudy, mild and tranquil day. A weak upper level trough of low pressure will be crossing the area on Thursday as very weak high pressure crests over the region on the surface. Looking at the satellite see some breaks in the clouds to the west and this area progressing east.
